![]() Looking SE at the corner of Bay and Adelaide Street, the feature building is Scotia Plaza (with its historic ancestor to the right), the second tallest building in Toronto (and Canada) at 902 feet. This generally is a building you either love, or hate, and personally I'm not a fan of this rust colored oddball design. It should be noted that there is a proposed 897 ft development in Toronto on the same corner (in a deceptively small lot) called "The Residences", that when built would be in the center of this shot, virtually hiding Scotia Plaza. On this page the proposed building is called "333 Bay Street". |
![]() TD Center is a collection of buildings (with the tallest standing 731 feet), each with names that escape me right now. These buildings, much like Scotia Plaza, you either love or hate. Personally I fall in the latter category: There is something about the industrial design of these buildings that would look more appropriate in a rail yard than in a downtown area. Alas, in the center of these buildings is a wonderful little park area where you can relax and pet the iron cows. |
![]() This wonderful little park area (this photo was taken looking SE) is in the center of the buildings that comprise the Toronto Dominion Complex. Adorned with iron (or some random metal) cows, it's a surprized favourite of tourists who unintentionally come across the herd (there are probably four or five of them). This is a great place to sit and eat a Quizno's sub. On the left is one of the shorter complex towers, and in the center is the stealth Royal Bank Plaza. I call it a stealth tower because, despite being right on the heavily trafficked corner of Bay and Front Street, it's a tower that you can easily fail to notice without it being pointed out to you. The gold colour is the result of actual gold being cooked into every pane of glass ($70 worth per pane). At the top of RB Plaza you can see the pinnacle of Canada Trust Tower, the main tower of BCE Place. |
